As part of the New Lodge Road Festival, Coiste, the Republican ex-prisoners organisation held a meeting in the Duncairn Complex, at the top of the New Lodge this evening.
The Press Release for the meeting stated.
“Coiste na n-Iarchimi is the umbrella organisation encompassing groups and individuals working for the social, economic and emotional well-being of Republican ex-prisoners, displaced persons and their families.
In 1974, the British army dropped CR Gas in Long Kesh prison camp. There is mounting evidence that this gas is responsible for the early deaths and illness of many former political prisoners who inhaled the gas.
Coiste has embarked on a campaign to find the truth behind the gas and its health effects on Republican ex-prisoners.”
